Selzer and Sanderson to Kick-Off Statewide Campaign
Topeka, KS May 29, 2018 - Kansas Insurance Commissioner Ken Selzer, CPA, candidate for governor and his lieutenant governor, Jenifer Sanderson will officially file for office Tuesday, May 29 in Topeka. Selzer and Sanderson will begin their statewide tour on Wednesday, May 30th in Goodland. The kick-off rally will take place at Northwest Kansas Technical College at 8:00am.
Goodland is the home of Jen Sanderson and her husband, Kevin, small business owners. She spent much of her working career in the community banking and financial management industry. She is a graduate of Fort Hays State University and graduated with honors from the Graduate School of Banking in Boulder, Colorado
"Jen Sanderson represents the best of Kansas and we are grateful she is willing to make the commitment to the hard work of fixing state government and transforming it in a way that creates that future we all want for our great people and state. I am looking forward to our statewide tour and meeting many Kansans along the way, " said Ken Selzer, CPA.
The statewide tour will continue on Wednesday with stops in Garden City, Sublette and Liberal.
On Thursday, May 31st the tour will begin in Manhattan, continue to Salina, McPherson and Wichita. The Wichita event will begin at 4:15pm at the Sedgwick County Republican Party.
The tour will continue on Monday, June 4th in Pittsburg, Atchison and Overland Park.
Jen’s state and local leadership roles include being the Chairwoman of Leadership Kansas Board of Trustees, serving on the board of Sherman County Convention and Visitors Bureau and serving as President of the endowment foundation of Northwest Kansas Area Technical College.
Jen grew up in Plainville, Kansas as the daughter and granddaughter of oil producers. She is the first in her family to have earned a college degree. Jen and her husband Kevin have two children, Blake and Taylor.
Ken Selzer, CPA, is a fourth generation Kansan. Ken grew up in McPherson and Marion Counties in central Kansas. He has been married for 37 years to his wife, Deb, from rural Miami County, KS. They have two daughters, Mallory and Mackenzie. Mallory and her husband, Colin, are the proud parents of Ken and Deb’s first grandchild
